Integrates corporate strategy with business processes; eliminates cost inefficiencies
BOSTON, January 3, 2012 –MEGA, recognized leader in business architecture and enterprise architecture today announced a new release of its pioneering software, the MEGA Suite. This release was developed to help companies gain even more business value from enterprise architecture initiatives. The MEGA Suite extends its capabilities to
- fully integrate corporate strategy with business processes and resources,
- eliminate costly inefficiencies in company activities and assets, and
- effectively manage change in the organization through more readily-available and comprehensive information.
With this announcement, MEGA increases the Suite’s recognized enterprise architecture (EA) management capabilities with MEGA Business Strategy, a new, innovative strategy tool for business architecture (BA) and EA programs. The new software also adds MEGA Portfolio & Planning, with advanced scenario analysis and planning capabilities to truly optimize IT systems’ transformations. In addition, this release extends communication capabilities via new dashboards and reports and the Suite’s adherence to industry standards and frameworks, such as BPMN2, UML2, XMI exports, DoDAF 2.0, and Archimate.
“EA tools provide business value by integrating, analyzing, and communicating about a wide range of aspects of the organization. This information must be authoritative, auditable, and meaningful for all stakeholders,” said Chris Wilson, research director, Gartner, Inc.
“Writing about enterprise architecture management suites (EAMS) in in The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Architecture Management Suites, Q2 2011, Henry Peyret, principal analyst, Forrester Research, noted “An EAMS supports a broader set of roles outside the EA group.”
Peyret’s report went on to say that “An EAMS centralizes the most strategic information on IT and the business.”
MEGA Business Strategy is a dedicated tool that integrates corporate strategy with business and enterprise architecture, creating a clear view of the organization’s goals, processes, and resources. It provides a strong model for enterprise architects and business architects to use for analysis and decision-making. C-level executives and IT strategists can use it to assess the alignment of resources and IT initiatives with corporate strategy.
MEGA Portfolio & Planning expands corporate visibility and makes forecasting and change management faster and easier. Using its master plans and roadmaps, and a repository of standardized initiatives, architects and strategists, as well as IT and other managers, can create added visibility into the organization. The new module makes it possible to conduct sophisticated modelling and analysis to help enterprises plan more effectively for future resource allocation based on business priorities and industry trends.
MEGA is also adding MEGA for ArchiMate to its supported architecture frameworks. Archimate is an open, independent modelling language for EA that is becoming more popular among enterprise architects.
Several updated frameworks and standards are being added in this version. MEGA will offer the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) 2.0 framework through a new version of MEGA Suite for DoDAF, a repository-based tool for describing and documenting all DoDAF 2.0 views on architecture. MEGA Process BPMN Edition will integrate the most recent Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2 standard. Interoperatibility in the new version of the Suite will be enhanced through XPDL, MRT1+, and UML2 integration.
“According to several prominent industry analysts who evaluated the market and vendors during 2011, MEGA is a leader. The MEGA Suite is the most advanced EA solution available today,” explained Lucio de Risi, CEO, MEGA. “With this new release, we have optimized our solution even more, so that it contributes to business innovation and fulfills company and stakeholder needs for major capabilities that blend corporate strategy with enterprise transparency.”
MEGA has been cited by leading analyst firms in their industry research on enterprise architecture. The EA pioneer was positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant in the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools report, published November 30, 2011 and was also cited in Gartner’s Assessment of Enterprise Architecture Tool Capabilities, published March 31, 2011. Forrester named MEGA a leader in The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Architecture Management Suites, Q2 2011.
“We believe the market recognizes MEGA’s vision and innovation, and our ability to deliver business value to customers,” continued de Risi. “We credit our position in the market to our focus on business performance, and our delivery of solutions that help customers implement a global vision to achieve business success.”
