MEGA Customer to Speak at Enterprise Architecture Forum

MEGA Customer will discuss how enterprise architecture helped document and support the development of new banking software

PARIS, June 6, 2012MEGA, noted industry leader in enterprise architecture (EA), will present a talk at the Forrester Enterprise Architecture Forum EMEA, June 19-20 in Paris, where Nissim Buchs, MD, PhD, chief technology officer, chief architect, and member of the account management board at the HP Banking Service Center in Bern, Switzerland, will discuss how the company used EA to document and support the development of its SOA-based banking software.

Buchs will present Scenario-based Implementation of an EAM Tool at the HP Banking Service Center to conference attendees who are engaged in enterprise architecture, business processes, application development, and content and collaboration at their organizations.

“At the Banking Service Center, we modernized, over the last 12 years, our legacy core banking solution to a new JEE platform using a managed evolution approach, implementing over 600 new application components,” noted Buchs. “Managing this landscape with Excel, Visio, and Powerpoint was not possible. Evaluating and implementing an enterprise architecture management tool using a scenario-based approach allowed us to proactively manage the transformation of this IT landscape. At the conference, we will discuss the best practices and pitfalls learned during the EA implementation.”

Enterprise architecture has become an important means for organizations to successfully develop business agility through business-IT alignment. By using an EA tool to create a repository of shared information that provides transparency across the organization, companies can fully understand which applications support various business processes, where applications are in the IT infrastructure, and which applications meet business needs and provide positive ROI.  This allows them to make smarter decisions on IT resources to support important business processes and help meet corporate goals for productivity and growth.
