This article explores the concept of Cyber Security from the perspective of the individual, corporations and in the context of government bodies. Focusing on a recent UK Ministry Of Defence report into cyber threats, the author considers the implications of breaches of various categories of information, in addition to threats of differing levels of sophistication and magnitudes. Through the application of a framework for addressing security threats, this article addresses the need to balance controlling information and operational security with the need to benefit from emerging and innovative technology.
