Why is TOGAF important to your EA efforts? An open EA framework such as TOGAF provides an Architecture Development Methodology, technical reference models, and documentation / guidance on how to implement Enterprise Architecture.
Our experience suggests that TOGAF can bring great value to an organization. Experience also suggests that most struggle with maximizing the value of TOGAF. To take advantage of its benefits, consider the following:
• Is TOGAF the correct decision for your organization?
• How can you take advantage of what TOGAF has to offer?
• Is TOGAF an “all-or-nothing” effort?
• Can an organization leverage TOGAF with an EA modeling tool?
• Is success with TOGAF even possible without an EA modeling tool?
By using MEGA and TOGAF as examples, this talk will focus on making the most of your framework efforts. We’ll address the concerns of organizations considering the potential complications and arising synergies of implementing an open framework in a proprietary tool and share some useful lessons on what has been learned in this regard. We’ll also answer the question: “What does the architect need to keep in mind when using an EA tool to implement an open framework?”
Who should attend
• Organizations looking to leverage an EA framework such as TOGAF, Zachman,
DoDAF, FEAF, etc.
• Architects looking to implement an EA tool to assist with their Framework efforts
• Individuals responsible for developing an EA framework or the maintenance
of an existing one
• Those wanting a better understanding of TOGAF
Important issues are lurking beneath the surface of implementing Enterprise Architecture in a tool context. The benefits are immense… but do you know where to start? Join us on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 1:00pm ET as we walk through the key steps necessary to achieve success with an EA / Framework implementation.
