The chair of Software Engineering for Business Information System at the Technical University of Munich analysed nine EA solutions within the frame of the "EA management tool study 2005" and with the collaboration of 11 industry partners such as BMW, Siemens and Deutsche Post.
The study outlines the MEGA platform flexibility and its ability to embed official modeling guidelines, hence it fulfils the various EA management executives’ needs. Regarding the high number of actors, this strength is critical. Achieving a successful IT or enterprise governance requires a rigorous approach.
Moreover, the study found the MEGA platform to be easy to learn and use. This asset can be crucial when users are not IT experts but are instead from the business side of an organization. All of the MEGA users are able to collaborate on the population of a single enterprise repository where all the company knowledge is stored in an integrated model. This allows for an in-depth impact analysis of both the Business and IT, as well as the distribution of any or all information through MEGA's documentation capabilities.
