MEGA IT Planning supports the proper enterprise architecture and systems lifecycle management. Using the concept of IT master plans, MEGA IT Planning enables in-depth scenario comparisons and impact analysis in order to deliver accurate forecasting of the impacts of change within the IT operation. As a result, enterprises can better synchronize technology investments with business strategy.
As part of the MEGA Modeling Suite, MEGA IT Planning benefits from the modular structure of the MEGA repository by enabling the user to see the impact of IT plans on business processes, IT assets, database systems, and critical infrastructure. In combination with MEGA Architecture, MEGA IT Planning offers the full range of capabilities that are essential to clarify how the business and IT demands affect each other.
Main features
- Master Plan Analysis
- Master plans outline long-term projects in relation with objectives and requirements. They provide guidelines for implementing projects. A master plan graphically represents components in a user-friendly, complete and understandable format. Time periods are associated to IT assets (e.g. applications, services, projects, etc.), which are then bounded by milestones.
- Relevant indicators report the status of the Master Plan.
- Reports and predefined dashboards: comparison of or more master plans; functionalities added or removed in one or more master plans; measuring master compliance with IT City plans; master plan financial dashboards (cost, revenue, return on investment), scenario analysis and selection.
- Master Plan Implementation
- Definition of projects associated with a master plan.
- Reports and predefined dashboards: which applications are impacted by one or more projects, listing project deliverables by time period of project roadmap, with associated milestones and deliverables.
- IT Asset Management
• IT asset lifecycle management
• IS Compliance with EA standards (functional, technological, and data exchange levels).
• Predefined library of EA management dashboards and reports.
• Other reports and dashboards, including hardware requirements for IT assets managed in a master plan, As-Is / To-Be scenario roadmap, description changes required in an application architecture.
- Version Traceability over time
• Versions and branching of IT components.
• Predefined reports and dashboards: application, components and services lifecycle management reports (removal, replacement, addition, etc.).
