New ITSM Accelerator Should Make ITIL Adoption Simpler, Says MEGA

Question: You've released the MEGA International Advanced MEGA ITSM Accelerator just ahead of the ITIL v3 release. How does the accelerator help companies take advantage of ITIL?
Lee: Many IT organizations are so focused on technology they don't focus on their own processes. ... Our customers will be able to use MEGA products to describe their business processes. With the accelerator, they have the ability to graphically describe the components of those processes. The accelerator helps because we have done the hard work of modeling the services, and included a lot of detail that can help. You could adopt ITIL without using MEGA and build all these models from scratch, but you would probably spend two or three months doing it.

Question: What has been the reaction so far?
Lee: It's been very positive. Here in the U.S., the overall adoption of ITIL has been somewhat slower than in the European countries. But we have sold a number of accelerators to IT organizations that have not really taken to ITIL previously. Companies that are struggling to define their IT processes can find themselves sitting around the table for two or three weeks talking about what their IT processes are. That's when they turn to our accelerator.
